You are a proton.

You have a mass of 1, a charge of 1, and just enough free will to walk, jump, and explore.

Learn how gravity, electric fields, and magnetic fields work in a gentle side-scrolling platform game. Can you collect all the atoms?

Approximate demo length: 2–5 minutes

Playtesters

This is an educational game that attempts to teach physics concepts without words or equations.

My main question is simple:

Are these mechanics interesting enough to build a full game around?

The demo contains four short levels:

  • Level 1: Gravity buttons
  • Level 2: Electric and magnetic fields
  • Level 3: Simple puzzles combining the fields
  • Level 4: More challenging puzzles using everything together

Each level takes approximately 30–60 seconds.

After playing, I would especially appreciate your thoughts on these questions:

  1. Did you understand how the gravity buttons worked?
  2. Did you understand the electric fields represented by arrows?
  3. Did you understand the magnetic fields represented by X’s and O’s?
  4. Would you want to play more levels using these mechanics?
  5. Was anything confusing, frustrating, or unexpectedly fun?

Thank you so much for testing the game. Even a very short comment is extremely valuable.

How to Play

Use the arrow keys to walk and jump.

Collect all the atoms to complete each level.

  • Gravity buttons reverse gravity.
  • Electric fields are shown as golden arrows and push you in the direction they point.
  • Magnetic fields bend your movement clockwise or counterclockwise.

Current Status

Version 0.1

This is a four-level mechanics demo made to test the central ideas for a possible larger game. It includes a few introductory and more challenging puzzles, but it is not yet a complete game.
